We serve clients across the globe by pairing expertise and passion to meet and exceed the needs of our clients. Our Teammates have a drive to expand their knowledge and contribute to the success of the organization.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my co-op here at Hargrove Controls & Automation because I learn something new every day beyond what I get the opportunity to learn in my classes at school. I have had the opportunity to work on two DCS projects, which have greatly expanded my knowledge of the chemical and pulp and paper industries. I am excited to return back to campus to use everything I have learned while here at Hargrove.”
Hargrove offers competitive pay starting at $22/hour and provides Co-Op students with real world experience and hands on involvement in client facing projects. Our students will be exposed to multiple industries throughout their time with our company, such as pulp and paper, discrete manufacturing, specialty chemicals, oil and gas, along with many more.
“The co-op experience at Hargrove Controls & Automation provides invaluable insight into what life would be like as a controls engineer, which is a perspective that cannot be seen from the classroom.”
Co-op assignments will be diverse, aiming to help our students develop a variety of important skills that will allow them to succeed both professionally and academically. Our students will be involved in designing graphics that will be utilized by operators working on-site, while also being exposed to light computer coding and the configuration of modules used in control and safety systems.
“Not only did I get exposure to engineering, but I also developed a lot of valuable soft-skills that translated well when I went back to school.”

“Going into my first rotation, I truly did not know anything about controls engineering or how it would relate to my major, chemical engineering. By the end of my first rotation, I had learned how to program PLCs, how the intricate design of a control system brought an entire process to life as well as how it kept the operators and product safe. Besides the technical education I obtained, I was able to work with a team of experienced engineers as well as other co-ops on real client facing projects. This experience taught me how crucial it was for clear communication and organization of information and schedules. What I loved most about my experience as a co-op is that it was real work and real engineering experience. I got to see projects through and implement them on client sites and see my finished product in action.”
